Ghost city and troops

If a city turns ghost, do the remaining troops disappear? If not, do they diminish with/as the buildings do (over a period of time)? Oh, and can a ghost city still have silver in a cave (if it was there before it turned ghost)?

A ghost can have silver in the cave. Happened to me the other day when I took over a ghost.

Well the silver remains but the cave can drop.

I conquered a city the other day and it had 2.5mil silver but it had a level 8 cave.

Troops in ghost towns disappear over time.
